what a week ! From 20* and sunny to rain & 15* just a normal week in Northern Ireland.

We started the week with plenty of dry fly action with small white midge with apple green body being the fly of choice alongside size 18 black with blue cheeks buzzers working best under the surface. Apps worms , blobs and daiwl bacs were also doing ok. Later in the week saw swarms of buzzers / midge / damsel fly & the odd Olive & Daddy making an appearance, silver horned Zedge / Alder & Hawthorne also on the water.

Friday Saw us put our 3rd Spring Stocking into the lake with a Double Stocking to freshen up the lake.

Friday also saw the arrival of Morning Caenis Fly “the anglers curse”

A great week over all but thats fishing it’s about getting out with nature.

We are Open Bank Holiday Monday & look forward to welcoming New & Regular faces at North Downs Friendliest Trout Fly Fishery.

Remember we are a fishery & not a catchery.
